Here are some tips and tricks I have learnt in the last month:
1) Drink a LOT of water- Some people with PCOD retain water and this causes bloating. Drinking lots of water will stop your body from retaining it as well as help the hormones to remain balanced.
2) Cut out simple carbohydrates from your diet- The only carbohydrates you should have are complex carbohydrates. This means no white rice, no potatoes, no white bread and minimal breakfast cereals (Wheat Flakes or Oats are okay.)
3) Eat every two hours- This helps to keep your insulin levels normal and stops you craving that chocolate at 5 in the evening.
4) You HAVE to do some kind of physical exercise- Girls with PCOD generally find it hard to lose weight. Exercising helps get rid of calories and will help in keeping you fitter. Do at least 30-40 minutes of a cardio exercise daily.
5) Try to avoid meats in general except fish and chicken (fresh of course).
6) Have at least two fruits and four vegetables a day- Fruits and vegetables are essential for a balanced diet and without some of these babies you'll never manage to lose that fat.
7) Make sure you are not missing any of your calcium and iron intakes.
8) Have whole grains such as brown rice, brown bread, try to put honey into stuff instead of sugar and when you're craving something sweet, eat home made frozen yogurt!
